1st 'Gills of This Year

I caught 8 cleanable gills yesterday afternoon, none picture worthy. So it's gills for supper 2nite with steamed asparagus, red potatoes with ranch sour cream, & maybe a brown beer or two!!!

Nothing like fresh blue gills frying in a pan, do you fillet and skin them, scale and fillet or head them and gut them.

Fillet & skin, egg wash then bread in Bisquick with cornmeal & a dash of garlic powder. Got a few left for a sammy at lunch today.

Sounds great. Bluegills are my favorite freshwater fish.
